F&M October Poll: President Biden Leads Donald Trump in Pennsylvania
President Joe Biden narrowly leads Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, 44% to 42%, according to the newly released October Franklin & Marshall College Poll.
More voters believe Biden has better judgment, is more trustworthy, and is closer to their views on values issues than Trump, the survey shows. But more voters believe Trump is better able to handle the economy and serve as commander-in-chief.
At 43%, voters say that “both” Biden and Trump are too old to serve another term.

About one in three (30%) registered voters in Pennsylvania believes President Biden is doing an “excellent” or “good” job as president, which is the same as his ratings in August. President Biden’s current rating is lower than President Trump’s and President Obama’s ratings in Pennsylvania at the same point in their terms.

Thomas Reilly ’27 Leads Campus-Community Effort to Support Childhood Cancer Research
Thomas Reilly ’27 has made volunteer work and community service a central part of his F&M experience—and recently helped organize an event that raised $30,000 for childhood cancer research. The government major from Haddonfield, N.J. is part of the F&M chapter of St. Baldrick’s, a foundation that raises money to fund research into childhood cancer treatment.

Led by two faculty mentors, Franklin & Marshall juniors and seniors with a keen interest in political polling, civics, and voter sentiment meet weekly to discuss best practices and trends in polling, how to analyze and contextualize results, and even take a hand in crafting the wording of poll questions. It’s a prime example of the type of real-world, hands-on experiences that build the kind of high-demand skills that prepare F&M students to excel in industry or graduate school.
